Burnley Pride is an event for the LGBT+ community and allies to celebrate Burnley’s LGBTQ history and future!

The event has been produced and organised by young producers from Stand Out and supported by Blaze.

The event will start with a parade around Burnley’s town centre followed by an event at Burnley Mechanics with live performances, activities, workshops and stalls.

The event is hosted by special guest and star of Drag Race UK, Elektra Fence!

The parade is free to attend and take part in.

Parade Details:

The parade is an opportunity for the LGBT+ community and allies to make themselves visible and walk through the streets of Burnley with pride. There will be different community groups, organisations and individuals walking together with the Stand Out team to celebrate diversity and promote equality. Leading the parade will be our wonderful host Elektra Fence and a Boom Bike to fill the air with upbeat tunes.

The parade will start on St James’ Street in Burnley Town Centre at 2pm. The parade is free to attend.

If you would like to join the parade you must tell us in advance by completing this form.

All under 16’s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Event Details:

The doors to the main event at Burnley Mechanics Theatre will open at 3pm. The live performances will start with introductory speeches at 3:20pm from the Stand Out Team, Holly Emmett, Mike Jackson (LGSM) and Paul Fairweather (LGBT Historian) as they share the importance, history and value of pride in Burnley!

Our brilliant host, Elektra Fence will then introduce performances from Adam Smikle, The Downtown Band, BB9.5 and more before a live DJ set full of camp classics with a dance twist for us all to boogie away to on the dance floor. The event will close with an electric performance from Elektra Fence.

With lots more to explore during the day such as information stalls, face painting, workshops and the Stand Out exhibition the day is set to be a fun filled extravaganza for all of the community and all ages.
