Young Producers opportunity for WigLe Presents Festival!
February 17 @ 8:00 am - March 3 @ 5:00 pm
Are you aged 16-25 and want to produce work for an exciting new digital festival?
WigLe Dance is looking for young creatives to shape the Wigan Borough Dance Festival 2021. This year the festival will be completely digital and we want you to help us to produce it. You will make decisions about the artistic direction, choose artists to create new work and decide the look and feel of the festival! The control will be in your hands to share your voice and ideas, digitally and creatively.
Why get involved?
- To learn new skills including project management, the commissioning process, marketing and social media, design, finance management, artist liaison, programming, decision making and more!
- Be part of a huge online festival!
- Work with experts
- Gain training and access mentoring opportunities
- See your work and vision brought to life
- Meet and work with like-minded individuals
- Add great industry experience to your CV, attending college, university or for future employers
- To be creative and have fun!
Who are we looking for?
We want to hear from creative and enthusiastic young people who live or have lived in the Wigan Borough. WigLe Dance are particularly interested in supporting people often marginalised from
the arts including working class people, disabled people, People of South, East and South East Asian heritage, People of African or Caribbean heritage, Irish Traveller heritage and Latinx heritage.
This opportunity is also for young people who don’t have an arts background but have a creative interest and are curious to get involved.
How long will the project last?
The festival will take place in July. The project will be flexible to your schedules but the core group will meet regularly and smaller working teams will decide when they want to meet.
This project can work around you!
