DROP’IN//In Conversation with In-Situ
Tuesday 27th October // 5-7pm
Gain an insight into the programming and ethos behind In-Situ with conversations surrounding site-specific practices and the Lancashire arts ecology
In-Situ are a dynamic, artist led, not-for-profit organisation based in Pendle, Lancashire. They are based in Brierfield Library and their vision is to bring art into the mix of the existing culture and environment of Pendle: to allow art to be a part of the everyday life.
They are joining us at Drop’in, an exhibition at Accrington Library as part of the 2015 Blaze Festival, to talk about the different site specific works have done, some of the things they have learned over the past few years, and share their thoughts on why the work they are doing is so important.

Drop’s is a week long repossession of ‘Accrington Library’ will see the space become a temporal arts platform in which interventions and ephemeral art works may be formed, noticed, unnoticed and create dialogues between the public, architecture, objects and resources that typically inhabit the library. The group of young artists challenge the perception of public space and the societal boundaries associated with the quiet but abundant library ecology creating a series of situations within the space over the course of the week*
