Call out for Trustees

October 31, 2018 - November 30, 2018

Event Navigation

We’re looking for trustees under 30 years old to help grow Blaze as a newly established youth-led charity!

Blaze is going through an exciting period of growth and development and we’re looking for people with energy, commitment and expertise to take our Board of Trustees to the next level.

Blaze exists to support and develop the next generation of creative producers. We imagine a world where all young people have opportunities to develop their creativity, leadership skills and involve themselves in the decision-making process at the highest and at all levels of the arts and cultural sector.

All of our projects and events have always been youth-led and now that Blaze is a registered Charity, we’ve made the decision to continue this vision by ensuring our Board of Trustees is made up of a minimum of 51% young people

Why Become a Trustee?

Becoming a trustee of Charity offers many benefits. You will learn how organisations are run and gain experience in areas such as setting strategic goals, accounting, financial planning and employment practice. Such experience would enhance any CV and give young trustees an edge over other jobseekers.

Blaze will provide training and workshops to help you develop in your role as a trustee. Joining Blaze will mean you’ll be at the forefront of supporting the next generation of creative leaders.

What’s expected?

A commitment to the ethos and beliefs of Blaze.

Be available to meet 4 times a year in Preston or around the North West.

Being a trustee is a legal responsibility – you are expected to act in the best interests of Blaze. For more info on the role of a trustee go to: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/the-essential-trustee-what-you-need-to-know-cc3
