Open Call for Filmmaker

We’re looking for a professional filmmaker to work in collaboration with a group of three, thirteen to sixteen year olds from the Pennine Lancashire area (Ribble Valley, Burnley, Pendle, Hyndburn, Rossendale, Blackburn and Darwen) to create a short promotional film about Blaze.

Our aims of the project are to:

  • Provide a unique experience for three young people to work with a professional filmmaker and receive training and hands on experience in all aspects of filmmaking.
  • Create a short (maximum three minute) promotional film about Blaze that communicates what the charity does and what impact it has. The film will be shared on our website and social media channels and should support our audience development plan and enable us to attract new investment and engage more people.

We will be responsible for recruiting young people to work on this project.

The film must contain diverse voices of young people who have taken part in Blaze’s programmes. Blaze will lead on recruiting previous participants to interview. The film must embody Blaze’s values.

Throughout the project you will listen to the opinions and ideas of the young participants and involve them in decision making.

We would like you to develop a proposal for how you would deliver this project and provide the best possible experience for the young people participating. We expect them to spend a minimum of eight hours with you.
